Bio of Jim Pappas, Principal of Future Management Systems
Jim Pappas is a management consultant specializing in the design, development and implementation of successful marketing and business development systems. Jim's 30 year career includes assignments in both Canada and the USA working with a number of large technology companies including GEC, CompUSA, IBM, Inacom, EDS, GTSI and Micro Center.
Jim is the founder of Future Management Systems - a management consulting firm based in Markham, Ontario Canada. The company targets large to mid-sized companies that need help improving their marketing and business development practices.
Jim is knowledgeable and experienced in the areas of problem analysis, process improvement, change management and business model design as they apply to marketing. Jim’s deep understanding and intimate knowledge of the marketing process was gained first-hand launching and managing new products and services for technology companies. Uniquely positioned to observe the extremely short market life cycles of technical products and services, this experience provided him with invaluable knowledge as to why products or services succeed or fail.
Jim discovered that the way in which products and services were marketed was just as important as the product itself. One would influence the other in a never ending cycle of product evolution. He applied this knowledge to help companies successfully develop, launch, market and manage numerous new products and services.
Jim has synthesized his methodology for marketing success into a proprietary marketing system called QuantumFiveTM. The approach encompasses five key marketing fundamentals – Strategy, Tactics, Tools, Design and Innovation. The foundation of system’s success is based on the premise that all five marketing essentials need to be working in a systematic and synergistic manner in order for a company’s marketing initiatives to succeed and to be sustainable over the long term.
An ardent futurist, Jim follows trends in society, science and technology and believes that the only constants in business are change and innovation. He thinks that all companies need to constantly improve their products and services in a planned and methodical manner in order to guarantee their long term success.
